Wintery Event Recap

February 14, 2010

Held at the gorgeous Stambaugh Auditorium in the lobby mezzanine just outside the auditorium, the Stambaugh Pillars met for their annual meeting in January.  The Pillars are the fundraising foundation that supports the venerable auditorium, assisting with facility upkeep to ensure the quality of this fine venue.

With a cocktail party feel, the event menu featured a salad-tini action station, a pasta action station, an artisan cheese display, and hand butlered appetizers of chicken teriyaki skewers, crab cream cheese phyllo cups, and london broil panetini.  For dessert- cheesecake pops and chocolate splattered cream puffs were accompanied by Verhona hot cocoa shots complete with whipped creme and chocolate shavings.

NEXT….Batter Up!  We hosted the Pittsburgh Pirates Caravan for lunch at The Grand Ballroom in Butler.  Organized by the Butler County Radio Network, the Pirates came to town in January to sign autographs, mingle with fans, and eat some ballpark inspired cuisine.

From fresh grilled black angus hamburgers and hot dogs (yes– we stood out in the snow to grille fresh– now that’s dedication to our customers!), to our homemade savory chilli with cheddar cheese, the menu specifications were “summery ball park” all the way to ease the winter dulldrums.  Baseball decorated sugar cookies, fresh made nachos with cheese, our famous Bacon Ranch Potato salad, Pasta Primavera Vinaigrette salad, and gourmet flavored popcorn were enjoyed by the fans and players alike.

Staying in a sports theme….  we had so much fun celebrating with the Laurel Junior High School sports teams.  From dance line to football players, the junior varsity athletic participants received recognition for their hard work going all the way to the Tri-County Championship!  Held at the school cafeteria, our goal for this January event was to break from the standard traditional buffet.  With that in mind, our company designed a fun menu of foods friendly to students and their parents alike.

From an extensive salad bar, to a pasta action station, meat carving station to mashed potatoes guests dined to their content…with JPC cake as a sweet ending before the awards ceremony.  Great work Laurel on the Championship!

Stay tuned for more fun-filled events as we head off to the Rotary Heart Gala this evening……
