United Way: Taste of the Town
November 10, 2009
Jody’s Pantry Catering was pleased to participate in the United Way: Taste of the Town fundraising event on Monday 10.19.2009 in New Castle. This well-attended event highlighted all types of culinary items from a number of area restaurants, catering companies, and businesses like Brewsters Ice Cream and the New Castle Candy Company.
For our first menu item we featured our famous Penne Alfredo Primavera made fresh on site by chef attendants using Jody’s Great Grandmother’s secret alfredo recipe and fresh sauteed organic vegetables- tri color peppers, mushrooms and red onion!
We also featured a fabulous slow-roasted Chicken Cacciatore Rustica, very popular on our catering menus, and again a traditional recipe from Jody’s family. This dish is packed full of flavor as wine melds with garlic, tuscan vegetables and caramelized chicken, all slow-roasted with our house marinara.
And lastly, we featured a Village Inn Restaurant favorite from our company roots– an oven roasted, Orange Glazed Tenderloin of Pork with Spiced Harvest Mashed Yams. This seasonally appropriate dish is packed with autumn flavors like clove, cinnamon, and oranges. The glazed pork tenderloin is always moist and savory, and the mashed yams were always a Sunday favorite at the restaurant.
We really appreciated all of the great feedback we received from the guests at the event, and were thrilled to support the United Way! We hope the event was a success for this worthy organization!
