The "Sunbeams" got married!
September 27, 2009
Despite the rain and wind… The “Sunbeams” got married today! Held at the charming Maple Lane Farm in Mercer, PA., this warm and inviting venue was the perfect host to the West Coast style small plate reception.
Bride Erica has been chronicling her wedding planning journey on the Weddingbee blog as “Miss Sunbeam” and all the planning culminated yesterday as she and Chris were married.
Desiring a reception to showcase DIY projects, as well as bring elements of their West Coast life to PA., the menu and decor were carefully planned and executed. With row style seating, floor length linens, small plate action stations, artisinal cheese plates, and fine wines, guests were treated to a warm convival evening.
Guests arrived to specialty cheese plates of Mimolette, Humboldt Fog and Brillat Savarin with nuts, dried fruits, honey and specialty crackers, as well as an organic crudite display.
Action stations were then opened which featured Cider Bourbon braised short ribs with yukon gold whipped potatoes,
Cremini mushroom ravioli,
mesculan salad with red pears, almond slivers and chevre goat cheese in a champagne dijon vinaigrette,
and crabcakes with remoulade and roasted red pepper garnish.
Servers also hand butlered Butternut squash soup shots garnished with nutmeg,
and scrumptious Pulled pork sliders garnished with hand cut coleslaw.
The candlelight of mason jar candles, coupled with the twinkle lights strung in rows across the barn ceiling made for a romantic vibe within the barn that set the perfect stage for dinner, dancing and celebration.
Best wishes go out to the new Mr. and Mrs. Kelly from the JPC staff and owners! We enjoyed the opportunity to celebrate with you.
