Rustic Appeal: Armstrong Farms – Fieldstone

July 25, 2010

Jumping right in, we have so enjoyed the opportunity to showcase the Armstrong Farms family of barn venues to our clients this summer.  First Adam and Grace hosted their nuptials at the century old Westminster Preserve in June, and now Jayme and Nicole celebrated their marriage yesterday at Fieldstone.  Newly renovated with loving care and rustic precision, Fieldstone is pristinely presented, immaculately landscaped, and boasts custom iron scuplture work.

Set in the front garden of the barn, the wedding ceremony afforded guests sweeping landscape views.

One of the many wonderful features about the Fieldstone facility that makes it so appealing, is the multi-level nature of the interiors.  The main floor of the barn is a wonderful location for cocktails and dancing, and features a built in bar alcove and shimmering lighted decor.

Nicole and Jayme chose a display of appetizer selections featuring our cool spinach dip with pita, pumpernickle and bagel chips, cheese cubes and crackers, and fresh fruit selections that was displayed on the main level of the barn with cocktail tables, and sporadic seating.

Guests then moved downstairs to the ground floor level of the barn for dinner service.  This level of the barn is resplendent with stonework, french doors to the lawn, and (wonderful for your caterer!) a service space for meal service and clean-up.

Guests dined family style on tables covered with butcher paper provided by the bride, complete with crayons.  The meal of mixed garden salad, apricot, apple and cranberry stuffed breast of chicken, three cheese stuffed shells alla vodka, mashed redskin potatoes, and fresh green beans with red pepper strips, garlic and fresh herbs was served after introductions and the cutting of the wedding cake.

The wedding cake was created by Jody and featured square tiers with edible pearl garnish dotted with wild flowers and displayed on a unique slab of barn wood custom installed by the Amish during the barn renovations.  The flavor profile was red velvet with cream cheese glaze,  chocolate fudge with raspberry truffle, and champagne white with fresh berries and creme.

Nicole created many appropriate details for the rustic setting…a bucket card box, wishing stones, wooden table markers, mason jar centerpieces, and paper fan programs for the outside ceremony

Thank you to the Allen family for entrusting us with catering service at their lovely Armstrong Farms venues, and cogngratulations to Jayme and Nicole from the JPC event staff.
