Products We Love: Studebaker Metals
October 27, 2015
Studebaker Metals is a traditional metalsmithing workshop based in Pittsburgh, PA by cofounders Michael Studebaker and Alyssa Catalano. Using classic methods and high-quality materials, Studebaker forges and handcrafts each piece in their collection of unique jewelry and accessories meant for everyday use. “Our design aesthetic is equal parts simplicity and solid construction,” says Catalano. “All of our work is designed to be of heirloom quality, meant to last a lifetime and then be passed on.”

Each one of their items has soul and a story. A range of beautifully handcrafted goods are available in silver and brass and can last you a lifetime. The “work patina” on their metalworks lends an industrial feel that pays homage to their Pittsburgh roots while simultaneously creating a masculine yet refined look. Twisted, heavy-weight and lighter bands are also available, unpolished and uncoated for an aged look.
Unique pieces such as tie bars to unisex rings and cuffs can be found at a number of local boutiques such as Mid-Atlantic Mercantile or online. Their offerings don’t stop there, either. Featuring a wide array belts and accessories, they’ve pretty much got all your gift-giving occasions covered. Find them all here.

We love the unique twisting accent of this tie clip! The rugged form and sophisticated touches make it an accessory worth splurging for.
This traditional shaving brush is made from 260-alloy yellow brass and hammered on the anvil (like most of Michael’s pieces), and is finished with 100% badger hair for the bristles.
