Since we opened our new office in the city, it seems that all great things are coming to the Northside. Caitlin Thomas Photography is opened her new studio on the Northside of Pittsburgh on July 1st and we are very excited to have this fantastic photographer as a neighbor.
Caitlin is a wedding and lifestyle photographer, whose style would be described as modern, fun and elegant. With over 7 years of experience, and an appreciation for the subtle moments and the whimsy of love Caitlin has an eye for capturing beautiful moments.
Caitlin believes you should always be yourself, and your photos should be a reflection of that. We have a similar belief for our catering and want the menu to speak to your style. We’ve been blessed to work with the marvelous Caitlin Thomas of Caitlin Thomas Photography.

How far in advance do I need to book with you?
“I start booking weddings about 12-16 months out. The sooner the better! I a typically completely booked out for a year by the beginning of the year.”
How long have you been in business?
“I have been shooting weddings since 2008!”
How many weddings have you shot?
“I just sat down and tried to count every single wedding since 2008, and I think am at about 120 awesome couples!”
How would you describe your photography style? (e.g. traditional, photo journalistic, creative)
“I like to think of my style as being “real”. A mix of creative photojournalism, and natural posed images. My motto since day one has been that I want my couples to remember their wedding day for how it unfolded, not for how it was posed.”
How would you describe your working style? (e.g. blends into the background and shoots what unfolds naturally, or creates a more visible presence by taking charge and choreographing shots )
“We really try to be a calming, fun presence on a wedding day. I never want to be the girl in all black in the corner that isn’t communicating with my clients, but I also do not want to be shouting commands at them all day. Our goal is to feel like a friend that is photographing your wedding, and it often ends up being the case because our clients are really cool people.”
What was your favorite/memorable wedding that you photographed?
“It is hard for me to pick just one. It sounds corny and cliche, but every single one of the weddings that I photograph has some sort of special or memorable story. The days that really stick out in my mind are the ones that were laid back, and filled with a lot of laughter (and happy tears). Days filled with genuine, kind people are the ones that really leave a lasting impression. Oh, and any wedding with really good food and music.”
