Gracious Garden Party

August 23, 2010

We loved creating a castle reception for Karen and Tim at the Buhl Mansion this past Sunday!  Living overseas in Germany during their military commitment, the couple did much of their planning long-distance, with just one trip home to coordinate.  They envisioned a relaxed, garden party type vibe for their nuptials with great organic foods, surrounded by loved ones.

After the garden ceremony, complete with backpiper, guests were met by smiling JPC event staff butlering shrimp cocktail shooters and bacon wrapped waterchesnuts, along with a classic display of organic vegetables, cubed cheeses and fresh fruit.

Guests entered the tented courtyard to prepare for the announcement of the newly married couple, and found tablescapes of navy blue and sage green accented by silver charger plates.

Dinner service was designed in a station format commencing with the JPC salad-tini performance station.  A tuscan pasta performance station featured freshly made basil pesto and pinenut linquine with four cheeses, and our famous penne alfredo primavera, along with penne alla vodka.  Guests also dined on a baked potato bar complete with an array of toppings from steamed vegetables and chilli, to fresh chives, cheeses, sour cream and salsa verde.  The hit of the event was our JPC skewered meat station.  Grilled fresh on site and served up in bamboo steamer baskets, selections included an andouille sausage and shrimp skewer, bay scallop and cremini mushroom skewer, rosemary balsamic beef skewer, and chicken, pineapple and pepper skewers.

The wedding cake was created by Jody of white chocolate rolled fondant, with navy blue ribbon garnish, sage green piping flourishes, and accented with fresh green zymbidium orchids.  The flavor profile chosen was wedding white with fresh berries and creme.  During the couple’s food tasting appointment, Tim had mentioned his desire for a chocolate, peanut butter and bacon composed cake– a fact that was noted by the JPC team, and at the cake cutting, he was presented with a custom made cupcake of his dreams!

Karen and Tim– we could not have asked for more lovely clients to celebrate a milestone with!  Congratulations from the JPC Event staff and owners!  Safety, love and happiness to you both!
