Foodie Friday: National Nacho Day

November 6, 2015

Crunchy and salty chips, blankets of ooey-gooey melted cheese, layers of bold toppings – need we say more? Today is National Nacho Day, and we can’t think of a better way of celebrating than with a heaping serving one of the most comforting and enduring dishes of all time.  From game-day inspired meals to weeknight dinners, the basic nacho recipe calls for tortilla chips topped with cheese (or some sort of cheese-based sauce) and can be topped with a variety of additional toppings and ingredients such as beans, chicken and guacamole.

The ultimate tray of nachos hits the perfect balance of gooey-cheesy-crunchy-salty goodness, all in one bite, and can be tricky to master.  Our chefs from SAVOR Fresh Catering division have this technique down and gives this Tex-Mex dish a Southwest twist for our Southwest Chicken Gutter Nachos, served with housemade guacamole, cilantro lime sour cream and pico de gallo.
