Effortless Beauty

October 15, 2015

A rippling creek, rolling fields, grazing horses, expansive views and garden lush floral set the scene for Lauren and Scott’s beautiful rustic luxe wedding at Rustic Acres Farm.

Modern mixed metal tones of amber, gold and silver were balanced with hints of navy. While designing the event with Senior Event Planner Jen Flores, Groom Scott campaigned for the vintage silver footed centerpiece bowls, thus three styles and metal components were utilized in the décor—gold, burnished brass and silver.

These rich tones were incorporated through the centerpieces, bouquets and bridal head wreath, which were all designed and created by Garnish Event Design. The bouquets were wrapped with sumptuous navy and nude velvet ribbon from the quintessential M & J Trimmings in New York. Kumquats on the branch were also utilized for a pop of color, which was balanced with delicate navy blue chinaberries.

The bride’s bouquet was a modern take on an urban garden, with phaelenopsis orchids, golden brown zymbidium orchids, navy china berries, flat fern and calcynia. The bridesmaids bouquets had a luscious mixture of popular white anemones, blue thistle for a hint of blue, combo roses, ivory peonies, flat ferns, silver brunia, scabiosa pods and seeded eucalyptus.

Bride Lauren and Groom Scott buried a bottle of bourbon under the willow tree several weeks before the event in order to ensure good weather on their wedding day. This seemed to do the trick, as it was a beautiful, but steamy sunny July day! They unearthed the bottle after the ceremony and shared it with their wedding party.

Amber Bosc pears were special ordered to serve as place card holders at each place setting, garnished with custom leaf name markers provided by bride.

Our custom-made Amish farm tables were used for the bridal party along with crossback farm chairs from Event Source. The sweetheart table for Lauren and Scott was our smaller Amish made Farmers table along with our Collette rental setee from the Garnish Event Design furniture collection, festooned with a foliage vine and Mr. & Mrs. signage by the bride. Guests were seated upon golden chivari chairs from the JPC collection of rental furniture.

Guests enjoyed an organic Farmer’s Table appetizer display of farmer’s fromage cheese selections, house pickled and preserved delicacies of local produce, jams, chutneys and jardinière before an elegant seated dinner. The first meal as Mr. and Mrs. was enjoyed family style al fresco on the barn deck and included expertly prepared farm fresh fare by the Savor chefs. Tuscan Cornish hens with a butternut leek sauce and grilled flank steak with a balsamic reduction were accompanied by mashed Yukon potatoes and rosemary haricots verts. The evening ended on a sweet note with a naked style wedding cake with local Amish fresh picked blueberries by JPC and a grooms cake by Bella Christies.

A romantic atmosphere was created within the barn as French country furniture from the Garnish Event Design furniture collection was used to create a lounge area for guests. Antique pieces from the Garnish Event Design furniture collection were utilized to create a cake display with luscious foliage and florals spilling out of the drawers and custom created LOVE letters graced the dance floor.
