A Sweetheart Gala fit for Valentine’s Day
February 15, 2010
For the past several years, Jody’s Pantry Catering has been proud to service the AM Rotary Sweetheart Gala held at The Grand Ballroom. The event benefits the Community Health Clinic of Butler County and featured an extensive Chinese Auction full of wonderful donations by event sponsors.
Postponed from February 6th due to the “snowpacolypse of 2010,” the event was held on Valentine’s Day, which afforded us the opportunity to really vibe our food displays. Guests arrived to a display of vegetable crudite and fresh tomato bruschetta accented with moss, river stone, red rose petals and black and red ostrich feathers. JPC event staff hand butlered appetizers of shrimp cocktail shooters and bacon wrapped waterchesnuts.

Strolling violinists from the Butler High School played throughout dinner which was served family style with a menu of Florentine Chicken Marsala with fresh spinach, mushrooms and sun dried tomatoes, Carving Beef with au jus, Parmesan and sage mashed yukon gold potatoes, candied baby carrots along with salad course and fresh baked Pantry rolls.

After dinner the dessert buffet was opened for the delight of the guests. Displayed on glass atop a bed of moss and red rose petals from 100 roses, the desserts had a Willy Wonka-esque appeal. From a mini candy station, to red velvet whoopie pies with cream cheese icing, the JPC bakery staff went all out providing our famous sugar cookies in Valentine’s decor and coconut cream pie, fruits of the forest pie, cheesecakes in three varities, tortes in two varities, our chocolate decadence flourless torte, chocolate dipped strawberries and chocolate dipped strawberry marshmallows….so much sweet goodness!

Guests and JPC event staff alike gave the event a “thumbs-up!”

Happy Valentine’s Day to all!
