A Culinary Trip Down Memory Lane at the Spring Open House

Delectable bites, fresh displays, and innovative pairings stole the show at the Rustic Acres Farm Spring Open House on May 2nd. From the hand-passed to the sweet endings, JPC Event Group’s Savor Catering Division stuck to the golden rule of food: You eat with your eyes first! JPC’s exclusive catering division, Savor, offers the freshest cuisine with farm to fork menu items. Savor sources from local farms and producers to provide eco-conscious, award-winning sustainable catering options.

At Rustic Acres Spring Open House, Savor by JPC Event Group unveiled an exclusive menu featuring the latest innovative trends and a wide array of distinctive display options. Guests delighted in tasty offerings around every bend of the venue like rustic grill stations, mouthwatering hand passed hors d’oeuvres, a colorful antipasto table, a glitzy pairing bar, a popcorn favor station, and last, but not least, the house made gourmet donut wall!
Let’s take a culinary trip down memory lane!
The exquisite antipasto table sitting underneath an elegant chandler welcomed you into the lavish space. Black olive tapenade with lavosh, heirloom tomato bruschetta with crostini, tomato mousse with olive garnish and fresh cucumber slices and a sprinkle of feta dust, house goat cheese biscotti, marinated mushrooms and cauliflower, charcuterie and cheeses, and house dilly beans and cornichons welcomed guests to munch and mingle as they entered the Spring Open House.
As guests mingled and strolled around the property they were met by smiling, attentive servers, presenting playful offerings like tiny tea cups filled with red pepper bisque soup with a crisp cheese straw, and a halved copper pipe brimming with chicken nachos topped with authentic guacamole, fresh salsa fresca, cheddar cheese and sour cream. Even the tortilla chips were hand made! A crowd favorite was surely the creamy, savory and crisp mushroom risotto bites with a balsamic crema were served upon a wooden metal serving tray for a classic earthy presentation.

Outside on the veranda, guests experienced outdoor barbecue offerings, JPC Style. The exotic and beautiful Elotes grilled Mexican-style corn-on-the-cob atop with bacon cheddar, cilantro butter and black pepper Parmesan toppings, the bourbon glazed pork tenderloin with house chutneys, and grilled mélange of Tuscan vegetables with balsamic reduction at the grilling station elicited “ooh’s”, “ahhh’s”, and “mmms” from every person that passed the station. BBQ should never be boring!

Round the corner to the glitzy chef’s pairing bar. This popular pairing station served up sonora pork mini taco and grilled peach chutney with mini margarita, onion marmalade beef slider with a lager or brown ale, spiced apple with prosciutto and watercress with whiskey old fashioned shot, and parmesan grougere with goat cheese and house rhubarb marmalade with pinot grigio.

Did we mention the donuts? The heavenly gourmet house made donut station was the perfect sweet treat that suited all tastebuds. Flavors spanned the palate from the inventive to the traditional with offerings of maple bacon, strawberry glazed, chocolate cake, and lemon ricotta. Guests could take their sweets on the road with a variety of flavors of adorable donut holes in cones. And no sweets station would be complete without a some flair and drama! In a flourish of flame, Chef James and team would flambe donut holes and then top with ice cream!


For a sweet ending to a sweet day, guests were invited to the popcorn favor station to create their own combinations! The signature gourmet popcorn varieties by Savor included peanut butter cup, birthday cake with sprinkles, and Nutella caramel popcorn that were scooped enthusiastically into custom printed paper bags.
