The Hazlett Theater, located at 6 Allegheny Square in the Allegheny Center area of the Pittsburgh Northside, was built in 1889 as the Carnegie Musical Hall and was dedicated by President Benjamin Harrison. The Theater is part of an historic landmark, designed in a Richardson Romanesque style, which also houses one of the first Carnegie Free Libraries in the country.
The New Hazlett Theater is a non-profit organization, founded in 2004 with a mission to cultivate the arts and provide a venue for world class and neighborhood cultural events. They have made a conscious choice to do more than simply operate a venue. Their vision is for the New Hazlett Theater to serve as a place that nurtures the arts and connects with the community.
This modern space offers dramatic opportunities for ceremonies presented in grand theatrical style. The lobby is resplendent with exposed brick and unique lighting which lends itself to cocktail style events for up to 200. For those couples seeking a venue that will create a unique and trendy backdrop for their reception, or for corporate clients desiring something beyond the standard box, the New Hazlett Theater is a must see in your selection process.
